LHDs Document Successes of Social Distancing Measures

The Big Cities Health Coalition (BCHC) released estimates that show that early actions by the 30 BCHC member cities to enforce stay-at-home measures in America's largest metropolitan health departments led to an estimated 2.1 million hospitalizations avoided and over 200,000 lives saved.  BCHC also provides a city-by-city breakdown of hospitalizations and deaths averted for the 30 city health departments, who are also NACCHO members. The estimates were calculated by the Urban Health Collaborative at Drexel University's Dornsife School of Public Health using a model published by the New York Times
