Next week, NALBOH members will be joining NACCHO (National Association of County and City Health Officials) and ASTHO (Association of State and Territorial Health Officials) for a Leadership Week in Washington, DC, to participate in joint public health advocacy day.  Along with members of the Big Cities Health Coalition (BCHC), numerous State Associations of County and City Health Officials (SACCHOs), and NALBOH, state and local public health leaders will educate policymakers about the need for increased federal funding for public health departments. This includes both support for key public health programs, but also for the broader governmental public health infrastructure—especially its workforce. In addition, the board will meet along with state leaders to continue building strong boards of health across the country and continue to build and maintain national partnerships amongst our public health colleagues. We are looking forward to a great week!
